Pretty but much too fragile.

I was so excited when we purchase a set of 8 wine glasses, 8 pilsters and 8 highball glasses in the Cheers pattern. Unfortunately these are much too fragile to use. First time we used them one of the wine glasses broke as I was hand washing it. We also lost one of the old fashioned glasses coming out of the top rack of the diswasher the second time it was washed. We have had breage on 4 of the pilstners. While we just started to use these in October, I have replaced them all as I just don't feel comfortable using them. This was all adult usage in very light service.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I had purchased a set of the Cheers Double Old Fashioned glasses about 6 years ago when they still had a flat, thick bottom. About a year ago, I purchased 8 more from a local retailer. The new set of glasses is incredibly disappointing compared to the quality of my original set. The new set has thinner (not necessarily bad if they didn't chip easily) walls and a thinner base as well. The original set of 8 is as good as new, but through what could barely be considered routine use, the new set of 8 is now a set of 6 with a few chips in the rim of a few glasses. If Mikasa can return to the quality of the original product, I would recommend these in a heartbeat. The pattern/design is great for both entertaining and every day, but the quality precludes any such use.

The etched designs are fun and delightful. I like
the size and heavyness of the glass and also the
fine lip on the edge.

Beautiful Glasses

I've been a proud owner of these glasses for well over three plus years and they are still the best set that I have ever owned. Sturdy, Strong and well worth the price.
